Gone are the days when people used to spend hours slogging
in the gym for months at a stretch in hope of getting ‘six pack abs’ or 8 pack
abs. With the advancement & progress in medical science & technology,
it is now possible to get 6 pack abs via surgery.
Expectedly, a lot of people have expressed concerns about
this 6 pack surgery or 6 pack ab creation surgery. Some common questions or
doubts are- Is 6 pack surgery safe? Can 6 pack abs really be created via a
surgery? Is the 6 pack ab surgery painful? What’s the recovery time of 6 pack
ab surgery? Which technique is used to carry out a 6 pack surgery? Am I eligible
for a 6 pack ab surgery? Does a six pack surgery leave a scar? etc…
Let’s try & address some of the most frequently asked
questions here.
Six pack abs creation or ‘Abdominal Etching’ is a medical
procedure in which the excess fat in the abdominal region is removed & the
abs are sculpted to surgically create the ripped look(6 packs or 8 pack abs)
Suitable candidate for a 6 pack surgery –
An ideal candidate for a 6 pack surgery is one who is
relatively fit but has not been able to get his desired “washboard abs” or the
ripped 6 pack look. It should be noted that 6 pack ab creation procedure is not
explicitly a fat loss surgery, though the surgeon will work on the abdominal
fat content and remove them. Only moderate amount of fats are removed from the
body of an individual. This surgery is more about removing the stubborn fat
which is deposited only in the abs or tummy and sculpting, carving out the
desired shape via the surgical procedure. Thus, people who undergo an
‘ab-etching surgery’ will walk out with their desired 6 pack abs after the
surgery.
Requirements before the surgery-
The candidate needs to quit smoking 3-4 weeks before &
after the surgery as it helps to heal faster. A detailed consultation with the
surgeon is needed to assess the current body condition & to find out about
medical history as to whether the candidate is ready & fit for an ab
etching surgical procedure.
Procedure-
Marking is done to ensure a symmetrical result after the
procedure & highlight the areas that need to be worked upon. Local or
general anesthesia can be used. As seen in the video, Dr. Yadav is working
first on the back side of the individual. Through a small incision, a thin
metallic tube known as cannula is inserted and Tumescent fluid is injected. As
seen in the video, Dr. Yadav is working on sculpting the back region & he ensures
that a proper definition is given to the back. Fat aspiration is also done. The
same steps are carried out while working on the ab region in front viz.
injection of tumescent fluid, aggressive working via cannula to give a proper
definition to the grooves and muscles along with fat aspiration. The emulsified
fat is removed via Liposuction. In a traditional Liposuction only fat
aspiration is done. As the procedure used here is high definition Liposuction
via Laser technique a lot of sculpting is done to make the required muscles
prominently stand out, the grooves or ‘cuts’ are made visible along with fat
removal.
Scarring-
In the back region or the front region incisions are made
near the hip bones, hence they will not be visible as they will be covered by
clothes. The other puncture holes are minor which will fade & are not much
visible with the passage of time
After Surgery:-
Medicines to quicken the healing process are
provided.
There could be some swelling, bruising
& redness initially which should subside in a few weeks.
The surgeon may prescribe a compression garment to assist the body tissues to adjust to their contours faster &
also to reduce swelling for a couple of weeks or more.
For the first couple of weeks after the
surgery physical exertion, exercise, heavy weight lifting should be avoided.
The outcome of the procedure is fully evident within 4-6 months when the body
has had enough time to heal.
